Regarding your sub-menu question, I think that you'll just have to create sub-menus through your Joomla menu manager. I can't believe I overlooked something so simple. I think I was just to focused thinking about Hikashop I forgot about all my other modules and their menu assignments. Please check to make sure the Breadcrumbs module you are using has had its Menu Assignment to be placed on all pages that you would like them to be on. The default template or any other templates you may import into Joomla may have the "on selected pages" option.
