Hi,

After google has updated they page speed insights tool we get some error "Serve images in next-gen formats".
Now reading a bit about it, it seems that Google tries to push another propriety technology.

Any chance hikashop could add some support for webP?
So after uploading images they could be saved into original format and webP? Or something like that....

More about this:

Thank you

@Nicolas

Trying to adjust webP images and i see that the image quality on product listing isn't the best.

We generate the thumb as bellow:

width:276px
height:415px

Original size of images is about 25kb, while webP only 6kb. It is good for performance but i think it's a bit to much. Not sure how image compression is done but it would be great if we could increase the quality of webP. It lack of details and at some points it gets pixelated a bit. I think the size of webP image should be around 15-20kb if original jpg is 26kb. That's what google suggest but still need to see it live though....

We would like to increase the webP quality a bit?

I could give image examples if need it.

Thanks

And 1 more. Your product pages don't show images on your demo. As example this one: demo.hikashop.com/index.php/en/hikashop/...roduct/5-black-shoes

Hi,

Thank you for your feedback. Having an option to set the compression of images is a good idea. We'll look into it.

We'll also look at fixing the issue with the images on the demo website, thanks for letting us know !
