Then connected them in a filter module which is displaying in the header () of our site. It's working well (displaying images, names) but we need some assistance on how to control things like width and alignment of the module. Basically we'd like to; make it display bigger, wider and align to the bottom of the header section. We're not keen to change the css but will if we have to. Any assistance or a mini tutorial would be greatly appreciated. Regards, Ian and stu.") The SQL it generates is a simple BETWEEN on the corresponding product column. The Single dropdown filter would have worked too but it expects you to predefine the ranges manually (for example 0-10 / 10-20 / 20-30), which is why nothing showed up when you tried it: with no ranges configured, the dropdown has no options to display. You do not need a custom field for any of this. Height, Length and Width are core columns on the product table, and the Product information filter data reads them directly. Custom fields are for adding new columns to your products that do not already exist; using them to mirror an existing core column would create a duplicate that does not auto-populate. As a bonus, the same Product information filter also has Surface and Volume options that compute width * length and width * length * height on the fly, so you can offer those as filters too if it makes sense for your catalogue.") 5 months 2 weeks ago by [nicolas](/forum/user/63-nicolas "View nicolas's Profile") | Replies:1 Views:268 | [Last Post](/forum/45-filters-search/910518-filter-product-by-height-length-and-width#371903 "Hi, The right combination for this is: - Filter data: Product information - Information: Height (or Length, or Width) - Filter type: Cursor (the slider with two handles), not Single dropdown The cursor filter auto-detects the min and max value from your catalogue's product_height / product_length / product_width columns and lets the customer drag the two handles to narrow the range. Currently, when a customer searches for a word that appears in both a product title and another product's description, the description match sometimes shows up first. I'd like to enforce this ordering: 1. Title match → highest priority 2. Description match → medium priority 3. Keywords match → lowest priority I've been looking at the `onBeforeProductListingLoad(&$filters, &$order, &$view, &$select, &$select2, &$a, &$b, &$on)` event, and my approach is to inject a relevance score into `$select2` using a `CASE WHEN` expression, then override `$order` with that score: My concern is: does HikaShop override the `$order` variable after this event fires? In other words, is modifying `$order` inside `onBeforeProductListingLoad` guaranteed to affect the final SQL query, or does the core overwrite it later in the execution flow? If this approach is not reliable, what would be the recommended way to achieve relevance-based search ordering in HikaShop? Thank you!") To bias title > description > keywords there, you would tune the field weights of the HikaShop Smart Search adapter (plg_finder_hikashop), not modify a HikaShop hook. So that would basically require making a copy of the plg_finder_hikashop plugin to set these. 2) HikaShop's own filter system (a search filter on a products listing page): the hook fires AFTER the filter system has already applied its WHERE clauses and possibly its own ORDER BY (in front/views/product/view.html.php, which is upstream of the event). Your override of $order would win, but you would have to extract the term yourself from the request, and you would also be paying for two LIKE evaluations per row (the filter's and yours). 3) A custom search module or form that posts to the HikaShop listing page with the term as a request parameter: this is the scenario where your hook code would work. In that case, your approach is sound, with a couple of fixes: - $order arrives at the event already including the "ORDER BY" prefix (built as " ORDER BY ".implode(...)). Your line: $order = ' hika_search_score DESC, ' . $b . '.product_name ASC'; will produce invalid SQL. Use: $order = ' ORDER BY hika_search_score DESC, ' . $b . '.product_name ASC'; - $term must be escaped to avoid SQL injection. Use $database->escape($term, true) inside the LIKE pattern. - $select2 is concatenated directly into the SELECT, so your "AS hika_search_score" column is available for the ORDER BY. Let me tell how the problem came. When you use the "Termékek keresése" filter on the top of the page, type "abn" then press enter. Then, you'll see filters above the products. Select "ABN" for the "Márka" filter, wait a second for the filtering and then under "Anyag", select "textil" - there would be two other options than textil, one is minden (all), and plüss is the other. But then, if you open the "Anyag" filter after the filtering is done, you'll see three more options than before; gumi, műanyag and poliészter - and after selecting one of them, they will return no results. The interesting thing is that if we click on "Szűrés törlése" (Clear filters) - and reapplying "ABN" for Márka, and "textil" for Anyag, it starts to work as expected. Could you help us with that? Also, it has a lot of modifications on the front and backend as well, so it would need some time to check all functions after an upgrade to the latest version. - Hope that's not the root of the problem Thank you, FRIK") Category: [Filters & Search](/forum/45-filters-search "Question about filters and search fields") Topic started 1 year 3 months ago, by [frik](/forum/user/52036-frik "View frik's Profile") [Last Post](/forum/45-filters-search/909588-dynamic-filters-forgetting-the-available-filter-options#367959 "Hi Nicolas, Thank you very much, adding the entry to the config table solved the problem.
