Hybrid Waitlist and Pre-Order possible?

Hi Guys,

My client has Waitlist configured, but would like customers to be able to pre-order (and pay for) some special order products. I can see that waitlist can be configured on a product basis, but I don't know if the pre-order plugin can work with certain products. Can you advise me on this possibility please?

Hi,

Both can work on the same website.
However, if you set a per order stock for a product, the waitlist will only be available for that product once both the normal stock and the pre order stock are exhausted.
For products without a pre order stock, the waitlist will work normally.

Thank you for your quick response. From your reply, it sounds like the pre-order plugin adds a pre-order stock quantity setting so the site owner will need to set a quantity that can be placed on back order. This functionality sounds very flexible and ideal for my client.
