Dear team,
how can I delet an old url to my produkts, because I have two different url's to my produkts, f.e.:
index.php/kategorie-liste/produkt/massagelotion-aprikose-vanille
index.php/kategorie-liste/physio/aroma-massagelotionen/produkt/massagelotion-aprikose-vanille
I just want the second one...?
Thank you!

Hi,

Well. I'm not sure. Where from do you want to delete that old URL ?
From the search engine indexes ? From a products listing module ? From a SEF extension cache ?
Somewhere else ?
Usually, what you want to do is to enter the URL you want to be used in the "canonical URL" setting of the product.
That way, search engines will use that URL and discard the others.
Then, you also have the "force canonical URLs on listings" setting in the HikaShop configuration that you can activate so that the URL will be used in products listings instead of trying to generate the URL dynamically.

Thank you Nicolas,
I have a categorie-view like that:
Physio
-Massagelotionen
-Einreibungen
- ....
If I choose massagelotion-olive from the site Physio or from the site Physio/Massagelotionen the URL looks like that:
index.php/kategorie-liste/physio/massagelotionen/produkt/massagelotion-olive
I like that very much...!
But if I put this URL:
/index.php/kategorie-liste/physio/produkt/massagelotion-olive
in the adress-line of my browser, I get the same result, and the search-engins also finds this URL. Where is this URL from an where can I delet it.
What is a SEF extension cache.
In the configuration the setting is "Use cannonical URL if specified" an every product has a cannonical URL.
This is not a problem for me, because it works fine, but I think there will be problems with the SEO ranking...
google says "found but not on the index" but for just 30% of the produkts...??
I hope this is understandable, my english is not that good.
Thank you!

Hi,

The fact that this URL is valid is normal.
Even for a page of your website which isn't a HikaShop page, I can find an unlimited number of valid URLs for it.
You can't delete these URLs.
What you can do however is tell search engines which URL you want to be referenced.
And you do that by having the URL you want in the "canonical URL" field of the product.
That's why Google says that he found the URL but it is not on the index.
That's because when it looked at that URL, it found that this page had a canonical URL with the URL you entered in the product, and thus it didn't index that other URL and didn't penalize your SEO ranking for it.
So from what I understand, you're already doing what you should do and you don't need to worry.
