Shipping rate on each product

I wanting to know if this is possible. The store I am building site for requires individual shipping rates per product. As the store will be dealing with after market car parts shipping rates will vary a lot.

Example of Shipping Rates

• Product 1: shipping $10 - per item
• Product 2: shipping $20 - per item
• Product 3: shipping $5 - per item

Also these rate need to be only for the metro region around the store, otherwise they need shipping calculated manually.

Let me know if this is possible or should I just say to use manually calculated shipping for every order?

You can create a shipping method with the "use price per product" option turned on and a restriction on the "zone" where you would select your state, and a restriction on the zip code so that you would enter the zip code range for your local shipping.
Then, in each product, you will be able to configure the shipping price for that product for that shipping method.
