The shopping cart is displaying correctly during checkout, however the order receipt is adding a bunch of weird items and pricing. This happened after the update to 2.2.3. My client is just now bringing this to my attention (4 months later). I have tried re-installing the 2.2.3 update with no luck. I have attached a screen cap of the order from the shopping cart as well as what is being shown on the email receipt to the customer. Has anyone else experienced this? Is there any easy fix? Create a product with a characteristic which is the list of all your products. Create 8 products of this type. Then create your main product, and add the 8 previous as options. By this way in the product page the customer will be able to select 8 products in the main product, for the price set in the main product.
