I`m using sh404sef component (for known reasons) and few days ago i`ve seen more then 5 (i`m sure that there are more of them) pages that were copying on of my product`s page. Examples: This is my product`s page - www.../fusion-proglide-power.html Copies - www.../mach3-turbo/product/3-proglide-power.html www.../styler/product/3-proglide-power.html www.../krem-dlya-chuvstv.-kozhi/product/3-proglide-power.html Those link are provided by Hikashop in my cart. With every added item to my cart all links change itself. For example: i`ve added product "Fusion Proglide Power" to my cart (cart shows link for proglide power page as: www.../fusion-proglide-power/product/3-proglide-power.html i`ve added second product "Mach3 turbo" to my cart (now cart shows link for proglide power page as www.../mach3-turbo/product/3-proglide-power.html). It also allows you to display the same product page in different templates, languages, etc. It's not really a problem to have different links going to the same page. The only issue is with search engines which can treat that as duplicate content and penalize your pages because of that. That's why , in your products, you can specify a canonical URL which will be the main URL used by the search engine and the search engine will know that all the links where that canonical URL is are in fact the same page, potentially presented differently, and won't penalize it for that. So I highly encourage you to properly fill that field of your products.") 13 years 3 months ago by [nicolas](/forum/user/63-nicolas "View nicolas's Profile") | Replies:2 Views:399 | [Last Post](/forum/4-how-to/85731-cart-creates-copies-of-product-s-page#115869 "Hi, Links to product pages can indeed be different as they depend on the menu used to access them, the category from which they are accessed, etc. That allows HikaShop to properly handle the breadcrumb system of Joomla.
