That's the look with the filter options expanded. You can click on the "filter options" button to hide the filters area so that it doesn't take up any height. a. When trying to find a solution for the "please select" choice of the "Characteristics dynamic display" setting, you must have removed the characteristics of the product leading to the system deleting the variants of the product to match with the new situation of the product. The characteristics selectors will only appear on the frontend once you've configured variants for your product, so you'll have to add back the characteristics and then the variants. Once you select a characteristic, you need to select ONE default value. Then, click on the save button of the new characteristic area.
