A simpler approach would be to have just the text "CHH2080" or "CHH2080SR02" as the product code (or in a custom product field) of your product and have your filter search on that field instead of the name so that you can have more complex names while still having the search match with the modification I provided earlier.") 11 years 10 months ago by [nicolas](/forum/user/63-nicolas "View nicolas's Profile") | Replies:10 Views:930 | [Last Post](/forum/45-filters-search/873253-text-filter-not-returning-exact-product#183798 "Hi, Note that the code modification I gave will make sure that the system only display the products as results if you enter the exact same text as you have in the product name. If you want that "text CHH2080 text" matches CHH2080 but not that "text CHH2080SR02 text" matches when you search for CHH2080, then it gets a lot trickier and would require to insert regular expressions in the queries. I also don't recommend that as it will make the processing of the query by MySQL a lot longer. The store is working great and we are almost ready to launch it. However, they simply want a text box to search products. I have installed a filter called "Enter Product ID". The only problem is that it returns every product with that string. If they want to search for product A1000, they also get all the products that contain those characters, such as A100, A10, 10, 100, etc. The client doesnt want a whole list of products when they do a search, they want the exact one. I have tried every setting on the filter, and cannot get it to work. I have tried operators (doesnt do anything), i have tried the other options, such as "any word", etc, but none of them seem to make anything change. Please advise how I can do this. Thanks in advance") Category: [Filters & Search](/forum/45-filters-search "Question about filters and search fields") Topic started 11 years 11 months ago, by [wildplanet](/forum/user/33745-wildplanet "View wildplanet's Profile") [Last Post](/forum/45-filters-search/873253-text-filter-not-returning-exact-product#183798 "Hi, Note that the code modification I gave will make sure that the system only display the products as results if you enter the exact same text as you have in the product name.
