I've been using Virtuemart, and Hikashop is a very welcome relief. My question - how can I set up products to sell by weight? I'm building an online butchers shop and need to sell, for example, Rump Steak at £15.70 per kilo but have the shopper choose whether they want 250g, 500g, 750g, 1 kilo or 1.5 kilo and be charged the appropriate price. Other products can be sold per unit, say burgers, so that's no problem. I suppose I use the product characteristics but can anyone explain how this could work. Thanks") Category: [How to?](/forum/4-how-to "If you didn't find the answer on our documentation neither on existing posts, please ask your question here.") It supports several sources including Open Exchange Rates. And Open Exchange Rates supports XAU (gold): docs.openexchangerates.org/reference/supported-currencies So, in the System>Currencies menu, you can create a new currency with the code XAU. Then, you can configure your cron task in the HikaShop configuration, and configure the rates auto update plugin via the Joomla plugins manager to connect it to your Open Exchange Rates account, and it will periodically update the rates, including the gold rate. Open Exchange Rates has different pricing plans based on what you prefer for the refresh delay of the rates. The cheapest is hourly. The most expensive is 5 minutes.") 2 years 3 weeks ago by [nicolas](/forum/user/63-nicolas "View nicolas's Profile") - [1](/forum/4-how-to/20874-price-by-weight?start=0 "Page:1") - [2](/forum/4-how-to/20874-price-by-weight?start=20 "Page:2") | Replies:21 Views:9481 | [Last Post](/forum/4-how-to/20874-price-by-weight?start=20#363586 "Hi, You have the rates auto update plugin which comes with HikaShop Business to update the currency rates.
