All the HikaShop 6.8 releases. The latest version and the list of all the versions are on the [HikaShop Change Log](/support/documentation/56-hikashop-changelog.html) page.

### HikaShop 6.8.0

**Release date : November, 4 2026**

#### Security (1)

- A security issue related to downloadable files is fixed.

#### New features (1)

- Texts saved under Saved texts for withdrawals in the configuration can now be added in one click to the reason for the customer of a withdrawal request, such as return instructions

#### Improvements (45)

- The HikaShop log now has its own page, System > Logs, on Joomla and WordPress. It lists the entries with their date, level, source (the payment or shipping method, the plugin or the part of HikaShop that wrote them) and order, with a search, filters, sorting and paging. Each entry opens on a page with its full data and the other entries of the same request. The log can be exported as CSV or text, and entries can be deleted one by one or all those matching the filters at once. Entries are kept 30 days, a setting in Configuration > Main > Files, and the cron removes older ones. Card numbers, passwords and keys are masked. The order page links to the entries of its order. Developers can write entries with a level through hikashop\_log(), and the log can be read and cleared from the command line (hikashop:log:list, hikashop:log:get, hikashop:log:clear) and read through the connector API. Before, the log was a single file shown whole in a popup of the configuration and never cleaned, and on WordPress it only went to the WordPress debug.log. A Logs setting still lets the log be written to that file, alone or as well.
- Every order now ends on the same thank you page: the customer's name, the order number, date and total, whether it is paid or waits for its payment, what the payment method asks for (the bank details of a transfer, where to send a check, the amount to pay on delivery), what happens next, the order's lines with their quantities, coupon, fees and taxes, the addresses, and buttons to view the order, print its invoice and continue shopping. A guest is told where the order was emailed and, when the shop allows it, how to create an account. Templates restyle it with CSS. Before, a bank transfer, a check or a cash on delivery order ended on a few lines of text at the checkout's address, a card paid on the site on its plugin's thank you message, and a card paid at the bank on two messages.
- The bank transfer payment method has a "Bank account format" setting: free text as before, IBAN and BIC, United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, India, Japan, or custom fields. With a format, the thank you page shows each value of the account, the amount and the order number to give as reference, each with a copy button, and the order email lists the account; the free text stays as a note, and an IBAN is checked when the method is saved. Before, the bank details were only the free text.
- For developers: a payment plugin gives the thank you page its part with a getThankYouContent($order) method, a plugin adds blocks to the page with the onHikashopThankYouDisplay event, and the page tells on its first display only that it is the first (data-first-view), so a purchase tag counts an order once. A template's override of a payment method's old end page is still shown, in the middle of the new page. Before, each payment method printed its own end page.
- The login block of the checkout has a new "Show the email of logged in customers" setting, off by default: when on, a logged in customer sees the email address of the account there, as a guest already does. Before, nothing was displayed in that block for a logged in customer. Steps that have nothing else to show are still skipped.
- The settings of a PayPlug v2 payment method now say that this plugin is a legacy one, kept for the shops which use it, and that a new PayPlug payment plugin is available on the marketplace, with the OAuth2 clients the PayPlug portal now gives instead of the secret keys; a new PayPlug v2 method is named "PayPlug (legacy)". Before, nothing told its users about the new plugin.
- A plugin can now give a file downloaded by a customer another name than the one stored on the server, for example with its version number, by setting download\_name on the file in the onBeforeDownloadFile event. Before, the customer always got the stored file's name.
- A plugin can now print a word before the price of a product in the listings and on the product page, such as "From" in front of a room's lowest night, by setting price\_prefix on the product before it is displayed. Before, the price layouts only printed the price.
- On WordPress, the HikaShop Filter block now has a "Filters to show" list in its settings: tick the filters the block shows, for example the dates and guests filters in the hero of the home page. Before, it showed every published filter, and only on the pages of the shop.
- A plugin can now add parameters to the links of a product listing, with the new onHikashopListingLinkParams event: it receives the list of the parameters (name=value), the filters and the key of the state of the listing. A plugin can use it to carry the values of its filter to the product page. Before, only the custom item fields of the filters were carried.
- The choice of an option of a product now shows the unit of its price when the product has one, for example "Yes ( + 22,00 € per guest and night )". Before, only the price was shown.
- The comments of a product, on its page and in the Comments module, now show the ones written in the language of the visitor first, then the others, with the new setting "Comments in the visitor's language first" (on by default) of the Features tab of the configuration. A comment keeps the language of the page it was written on. Before, comments of every language were mixed by date, whatever the language of the visitor.
- The Google Products feed now gives Google, as the main picture of a product, its first picture Google accepts. A picture under 100 x 100 pixels goes into the feed on a white square, after the bigger ones, and an SVG picture is left out. Before, the first picture of the product was sent whatever its size or format, and Google Merchant Center refused the products whose first picture was a small logo or an SVG file.
- On Joomla, pages load faster: the scripts of the add to cart notification, of the popups and of the cart drawer are loaded once the page is displayed, and the styles of the popups and notifications no longer hold up its display. Before, the browser waited for them before showing anything, on every page with HikaShop content. A custom script using vex or jQuery.notify as soon as the page is read must now wait for the DOMContentLoaded event.
- The customers imported from OpenCart, PrestaShop, Magento, EC-CUBE or WordPress (WooCommerce) can now log in with the password they had in their shop. HikaShop now includes an Authentication - Imported shop passwords plugin, which the imports turn on: it accepts that password and replaces it with a regular Joomla password at the first login, so the plugin only matters until the customer has logged in once. The PrestaShop and EC-CUBE imports read the key their passwords need in the folder of the shop. Before, the imported accounts could not log in until their password was reset.
- The IP2Location.io library used by the geolocation plugin is updated to its version 1.1.2.
- AI agents working in a visitor's browser through WebMCP (Chrome or Edge with WebMCP on, the MCP-B extension) now get tools from every page of the shop: search the products by words, category and the shop's own filters, list the categories, list the filters with the values they accept, read a product with its variants and options, open a listing with filters for the visitor to see, and add products to the visitor's cart with the fields they ask for (the dates of a booking, a text, a choice), read it and change its quantities, the cart module refreshing as after an add to cart button. Registration, login and the checkout stay with the visitor. They get what the visitor would see: the published products of the visitor's access level, with the prices of the visitor's taxes and currency. The filter form of a listing also declares itself to these agents. Before, only the WebMCP option of the UCP plugin gave them tools, and current browsers never received them; that option is removed, the UCP plugin keeps its API for agents working from a server. Plugins can add tools of their own to these, with the new onHikashopAgentTools and onHikashopAgentCall events described in the developer documentation.
- For developers: a plugin's filter type or item field type can describe the values it takes to the AI agent tools with agentChoices(), agentDescribe() and agentValue() methods, and the onHikashopAgentProduct event lets a plugin add its own data to a search, product or cart answer. The date picker field and its two filters use them, so agents read and give dates as YYYY-MM-DD.
- The J2Store import now reads shops running J2Commerce 6, which keeps its data in its own j2commerce tables: the Import page offers it as "J2Store / J2Commerce", fills in the table prefix it finds on your site, and imports the taxes, brands, categories, products, prices, stock, customers, coupons, orders and downloads of either version. The variants of a product with options now become HikaShop variants, with their characteristics, price and stock instead of being left out, and the orders keep their shipping and discount amounts. The custom fields you added to the addresses become HikaShop custom fields with their values, in the customer addresses and in the addresses of the orders. The options of a product which are not variants (a text to engrave, a gift wrap, a warranty) become custom fields of the products which had them, and the orders keep what the customer typed or chose. The choices of an option which have a price become HikaShop product options with that price (on the Essential and Business editions), and the orders keep them as option lines. The file upload options become "Ajax file" or "Ajax image" custom fields (Business edition) and the files sent by the customers are copied with the orders. The Import page of J2Store / J2Commerce now lets you choose what to import: taxes, brands, catalog, customers, coupons, orders and downloads. The state of the imported orders, which J2Commerce 6 stores by number, is read too.
- The import of another shop is now one screen: the Import page has an "Import from another shop" choice, with the list of the shops it can read (VirtueMart, WooCommerce, OpenCart, EC-CUBE, J2Store / J2Commerce, HikaShop, PrestaShop, Magento, Shopware, Sylius and Shopify), the settings of the one chosen, and what to import (taxes, catalog, customers, coupons, orders, downloads). The import runs on the page itself with its progress, and a step which fails can be tried again or skipped instead of ending on an error page. PrestaShop 1.7, 8 and 9 can now be imported: categories, brands, products with their combinations, images, taxes, customers and their addresses, coupons, orders and downloadable files. Magento 2 (Open Source, Adobe Commerce and Mage-OS) can be imported: categories, products with their configurable options as variants, images, tax classes, customers, coupons and orders. Shopware 6 can be imported: categories, brands, products with their variants and options, taxes, customers with their password, promotions and orders. Sylius 1 and 2 can be imported too, customers keeping their password. Shopify can be imported from the CSV files its admin exports (products with their variants and images, customers, orders), sent on the same screen. OpenCart 4 shops can now be imported as well as OpenCart 3, and the OpenCart customers are no longer imported as blocked accounts. The WooCommerce import now brings the product reviews, and the VirtueMart import keeps the orders whose currency HikaShop does not know. The Mijoshop, redSHOP and VirtueMart 1 imports are removed, with the Mijoshop redirect plugin.
- The Import page now has a tab for each way to import (CSV file, text area, folder, another shop), with the product template and the Import button inside the tab, and the options of the CSV and text area tabs laid out in columns. The page also displays correctly with the dark theme of the backend.
- The Import from another shop screen now reads the products of a Wix store and of a Squarespace store, from the CSV file their dashboard exports: the products with their description, categories, images, brand or tags, and their variants with up to 6 options for Wix and 3 for Squarespace, with the SKU, price (the surcharge, discount and sale price included), weight and stock of each.
- On Joomla, the import of another shop can now redirect the old addresses of the products and categories to their new pages: with the new box ticked, each one gets a permanent redirection in the Redirect component of Joomla (and the System - Redirect plugin is turned on), so the links to the old shop and the search engines find the new page. The addresses are read from the Shopify, Squarespace, WooCommerce, OpenCart, Magento, PrestaShop, Shopware, Sylius and EC-CUBE shops.
- The Magento import now brings the grouped and bundle products: the products they are made of become their related products, and the product takes the price of the cheapest of them. Before, they were imported as products with no link to the others.
- The import of OpenCart, PrestaShop, Magento, Sylius, Shopware and EC-CUBE now also works on a WordPress site, with the customers logging in with the password they had in their old shop: the hashes of the other shops are checked by the WordPress login too, and replaced by a WordPress one at the first login.
- The VirtueMart import now creates the redirections of the old addresses of the products and categories in the Redirect component of Joomla, like the imports of the other shops, so the plugin Hikashop - VirtueMart Fallback Redirect is removed (on update, import VirtueMart again to create them for the products already imported). The OpenCart import now links the products to their brand, which only worked for a part of them, and imports more than 100 categories.
- The page shown after HikaShop is installed or updated is now part of HikaShop, with the version you came from and the one you have, your edition, the main new things of the version with a link to the changelog, and the places to go next (your orders, the dashboard, the configuration, or your first product after an install), and it follows the dark mode of the Joomla administration. The Update / About page has the same design and tells you whether HikaShop is up to date, with a button to install the update when it is not. Before, both pages were loaded from hikashop.com in a frame, with a text that did not mention the version.
- The reason of the withdrawal form is a box as wide as the form. Before, it was a small box of 20 columns.
- The setup assistant shown after a first install is a new page: it adds the shop to the main menu with a cart, categories and best sellers in the sidebar, sets the country, currency and taxes (preselected from the browser language), shows its progress as it works, and can also be run from the command line with shop:setup
- The sample data of the setup assistant is generated on your site instead of downloaded, so it works on any server: about 40 products with their variants, 20 customers and 60 orders. Each kind can be removed again from the Advanced tab of the configuration, without touching what you added yourself
- The sample data comes in three packs to choose from: general goods, clothes in four colours and sizes, and downloads that deliver a small file. Products come with pictures, downloaded in your browser when your server cannot reach hikashop.com
- The setup assistant can install the tax rates of Canada (GST, HST, PST and QST by province) and of the United States (the sales tax of your state), and the European pack now also taxes your regular products at the rate of your country
- On WordPress, a plugin package that ships another plugin with it (Seat Map and its Seat ticket generator for HikaSerial) now installs both, where only the first one was installed before
- The European VAT rates of the setup assistant are part of HikaShop instead of a download, and are the current ones (Estonia 24%, Slovakia 23%, Romania 21%)
- A new reason for the customer saved on a withdrawal request now emails the customer when Notify the customer is ticked, even if the status stays the same, while before nothing was sent unless the status changed
- Plugins can add their own rows to the ACL tab of the configuration, with the onHikashopAclCategories event
- When PayPal refuses the PayPal application of the PayPal Checkout payment method, its payment page now says so and tells the shop owner to check the client ID, the sandbox setting and the "JavaScript SDK v6" feature of the application in the PayPal developer dashboard. Before, it asked the customer to disable the browser extensions blocking PayPal, while nothing in the browser was involved.
- The dashboard's tiles (sales, orders, average, best product, category and customer) get a period setting in the dashboard configuration, their period was fixed
- An error thrown while an email is generated, by a customization or another extension, no longer stops the request: the email is sent with what was generated, and the error, with the file and line at fault, goes to the shop's notification address and HikaShop's log, instead of no email at all
- The CSV export of orders and users can now write only the shipping or only the billing address columns, where it always wrote both
- After a form on the frontend is sent with an error, such as the checkout with required fields left empty, the first error message now takes the focus, so a screen reader reads it and keyboard users start from it. Before, the page reloaded with the focus at the top and nothing was announced.
- The cart notification popup is now announced by screen readers as a dialog, with its title and text, and the focus goes back to the button that opened it when the popup is closed. Before, it was not announced, and closing it sent the focus back to the top of the page.
- The choices shown as buttons on the frontend forms, such as Login, Registration or Guest at the start of the checkout, can now be reached with the keyboard and are read by screen readers as radio buttons, with an outline on the button in focus. Before, the radio buttons behind them were hidden completely, so only a mouse could change the choice.
- After the checkout or another frontend form is sent with errors, each required field left empty is now marked as invalid and shows its own message, which a screen reader reads together with the field. Before, only the list of messages at the top of the page said that something was wrong, and nothing said which field.
- The order status notification email form now lists, beside each Per status override button, the statuses which have their own version, which were only visible by opening the window and trying each status

#### Bug fixes (51)

- With "Apply coupons" set to "After taxes", a percentage coupon with "Automatic taxes" or a tax category now takes its percentage off the price including taxes and records the taxes it contains, so the reports split it between net and taxes. Before, the taxes were added on top of that amount, so a 10% coupon took 11.9% off with 19% VAT while the taxes of the order stayed those of a 10% coupon.
- With "Apply coupons" set to "After taxes", a coupon restricted to some products, or a fixed amount coupon, with "Automatic taxes" or a tax category now lowers the taxes of the order by the taxes it contains, so the taxes shown in the cart, on the order and the invoice are those of the amount paid. Before, the coupon was taken off the total with no taxes in it: a 15% coupon on a book at 7% VAT left the VAT of the full price on the order.
- Paying an unpaid order later from the customer account, with "Pay now", now stops with a message when one of its products or of their options is unpublished or deleted, or, with "Update the product stock on confirmed status", when they or the products of a bundle no longer have enough stock. Before, the payment went through for a product the shop no longer sold.
- On WordPress, the buttons of a HikaShop plugin's settings which run an action, such as the address check of the TaxCloud plugin, now run it. Before, HikaShop refused the action with an "access forbidden" message.
- A filter block (or module) whose list of filters to show is an empty text now shows all the filters. Before, the empty text was read as one filter with no name and showed none.
- On WordPress, after a HikaShop update, the columns that the new version added to the tables are now created when the HikaShop pages of the backend are opened. Before, they were not, and on a site updated from 6.6.0 to 6.7.0 every product added to the cart answered "The product is not available" because of the missing column of the languages a product is hidden in.
- A block added to the checkout workflow in the configuration now shows the descriptions of its settings when you hover them; they only appeared after saving and reloading the page.
- On WordPress and Joomla 3, the message of a product listing with no products shows its icon again, and so does the App Devices entry of the System menu of HikaShop. Before, these two icons were empty boxes, their names being missing from the older Font Awesome loaded there.
- The update and the "Check database" button of the configuration now put every HikaShop table on the same utf8mb4 collation, also the tables which were already in utf8mb4 before 6.7.0. Before, they only converted the tables still in utf8, and on a shop whose database had some HikaShop tables in utf8mb4 with another collation, the product listings and product pages failed after an update to 6.7.0 or 6.7.1 with the error "1267 Illegal mix of collations (utf8mb4\_general\_ci,IMPLICIT) and (utf8mb4\_unicode\_ci,IMPLICIT)".
- Installing or updating HikaShop from the command line no longer prints "Undefined array key SERVER\_ADDR" warnings from the Westpac payment plugin.
- The titles of the values of a custom field (radio buttons, checkboxes, dropdowns) show their HTML again, such as an image, on the product pages, the listings, the forms and the emails, with the scripts and event attributes removed. Before, since 6.7.1, the HTML of these titles was printed as text, for example <img src="/images/bio.png" alt="bio" /> instead of the image.
- A product mass action whose "Update values" action computes a product column from the price, such as price.price\_value\*1.25, works again, also when it runs on saving a product. Since 6.7.0, the price table was left out of the query and MySQL refused it with "Unknown column hk\_price.price\_value", which stopped the product save.
- Without Falang, changing or emptying the alias of a category or a product in its main form now keeps the translation of its name when the alias was made from the name, such as "buoni-regalo" for "Buoni regalo". Before, the translated name moved to the new alias, or was deleted with the emptied one, and the page showed the name in the default language again.
- A category filter shown as radio buttons no longer prints a PHP deprecation message on the pages where none of its categories is chosen, on a site showing PHP errors.
- Adding a product to the cart now only adds the options its page offers (published, on sale and of the customer's access level), and an option of the product with variants as one of its variants. Before, a modified add to cart request could add any product of the shop as an option.
- The first product a customer adds to the cart now shows the messages of that add, such as a field to fill in or an option that could not be added, like the next ones do. Before, those messages were lost when the add created the cart.
- In the order emails, the total line of the default, alternative, admin, admin\_notification and user\_notification templates and their colour copies is bold at the size of the other lines again. Before, since 6.7.0, these templates set its amount to 17px, so an email whose content was a copy made before 6.7.0, with its 12px text, showed a much bigger total.
- The J2Store import could multiply the customer and order addresses: an address whose country or state matched several HikaShop zones was copied once for each of them, and an address without a state matched every state without a code. Each address is now imported once, with its own state. The addresses and orders of the customers were also attached to their Joomla user number instead of their HikaShop customer, and the tax of each order product was the tax of the whole line instead of the tax of one unit. They now belong to the right customer with the right tax, the coupons without dates no longer show a PHP warning, and the "processed", "failed" and "delivered" order states are mapped to a HikaShop status. The tax rules were also created without the tax they point to, and the products did not get the tax of their tax profile: both are now imported.
- Importing another shop a second time now adds only what is new on the old shop. Before, the prices, images, addresses, order lines and tax rules of the first import were added again (and the HikaShop to HikaShop import stopped on a product code already there), so a shop could not be imported once to test and again when going live.
- The contact block of the new email templates now shows the "Reply-to address" of the email in its "Email us" box, or the sender address when there is none. Before, it always showed the sender address of the configuration, even when the shop sends its emails from a no-reply or notification address and receives the answers at another one.
- The imports from OpenCart, HikaShop, WooCommerce, EC-CUBE and VirtueMart no longer give the old shop rights on the new site: the administrators of an OpenCart shop are imported as registered users instead of Super Users, the administrator groups of a HikaShop to HikaShop import are not carried over, the settings of the old HikaShop which hold rights, accepted uploads and keys are not copied, and an account of the new site with the same email as an imported customer is left as it is instead of being linked to that customer. The database name and table prefix of the import forms only accept plain names, the files copied from the old shop have to be inside its folder and of an allowed type (SVG files are cleaned), and the OpenCart configuration file is read instead of run. The name of the author of an imported review is now escaped when displayed.
- Making an address the default one from the checkout or the customer account now only replaces the default address of the same type, instead of leaving two default billing addresses and removing the default shipping address
- The column order and labels of a CSV export now apply to the address columns of orders and users, which were always written in their own order after the other columns with their raw names
- The shipping methods of the checkout follow the country of the registration form again after an error reloads the page, instead of going back to the methods of the shop's own country
- On WordPress, a script that a plugin adds with the defer attribute is now loaded deferred, the plan editor of the Seat Map plugin stayed empty because its script ran before the page it draws in
- On WordPress, a theme's own product layouts (its hikashop folder) now apply to the Products and Categories blocks and to the modules, HikaShop's own layouts were used there instead
- On WordPress, the stylesheet and the script of a module installed with HikaShop's plugin installer (Comments, Calendar) are now found, they were requested from an address that does not exist
- The arrows of the date pickers are drawn by HikaShop itself. Before, they asked for icon images that the package does not contain, so the arrows were missing and the page made a request that failed.
- A payment method's return URL entered without the site's address now leads to that page of the site, where it could end on a 404 page with SEF URLs
- The PayPal Checkout cron leaves the orders of a method without instant capture to the merchant, instead of confirming them and capturing their authorized payment
- The PayPal Checkout Pay Later message is now displayed on the cart page when its setting asks for it. Before, it never appeared there, whatever the setting.
- The withdrawal form now has its submit button at the end of the form with the button CSS of the configuration, its quantities centred and a working select all box shown only for several products, while before the select all box threw a JavaScript error and the green button sat beside the title
- Plugin settings that only apply to a choice made in another setting now show and hide with that choice (bank transfer's account fields, GLS's parcel shop options); before, they were always shown.
- Advanced date picker fields show the date they store, and check its weekday correctly, when a daylight saving change lies between today and that date or with the Set hour to noon option. Before, such dates could show as the previous day and a weekday could be refused as the next one.
- The dashboard's Best category tile counts the sales of variants and of every product of a category, it only counted the product shown first in its category and never a variant
- The dashboard's Best customer tile shows the customer's email when the customer has no user account, it showed no name for guest orders
- The previous and next product buttons on the product page now follow the order of the listing when several products share the same position in the category, instead of skipping or repeating products
- The previous and next product buttons now follow the category of the menu item the customer browses when the product is in several categories, instead of jumping to the products of its first category
- The error shown at checkout when a registration is refused, for example because the email address already has an account, now displays as an error and no longer as an unstyled message.
- On WordPress, a module displayed as a block keeps its data scripts (JSON, templates) in place instead of moving them to the footer, so modules that read their settings from such a script, like the vendor map, work. Before, the map of the vendors stayed empty.
- The sharper copy of an image for high-density screens is no longer made when the image is too small to fill it, which put blank stripes above and below the picture of a listing or a category whose images are cropped to a fixed size. The browser now uses the normal copy there. Before, the picture appeared inside a white frame on those screens.
- On WordPress, a page that refuses access (for example a vendor page opened by a visitor who is not allowed to see it) now answers with a 403 and its message. Before, the add-ons threw an exception class that only exists on Joomla, which ended in a fatal error.
- On Joomla, a payment notification or a cron run sends its order emails even when an extension renders a view in them (HikaMarket's vendor emails for example), instead of stopping with an error once the new order status was saved, without the order history entry and the emails
- The category listing now uses the image height (or width) set alone in the menu or module options, instead of falling back to the default thumbnail size
- The online VAT number check reaches the European Commission's VIES service over https again, so invalid numbers are refused, where it failed to load the service and accepted any number with a valid format
- PayPal Checkout offers PayPal's Debit or Credit Card button again when the PayPal account cannot have the card form, instead of no card payment at all since the move to PayPal's new payment page
- The geolocation plugin no longer slows down or breaks the pages of new visitors on shops with a large geolocation table: the table gets indexes on the IP address and the creation date, and old entries, those of bots included, are purged once a day instead of on each new visitor's first page
- A badge whose image file cannot be found, nor the default image, is no longer displayed on products, instead of an empty image and an Undefined property $ext warning
- The translation of a category or product alias is now saved when the alias is made from the name, instead of being replaced by the name's translation when the site translates with language overrides (without Falang)
- The admin order, payment and order cancel notifications show the order number as the link to the order in the back end, so Outlook on Windows no longer widens and cuts them, on screen and when printed, because of the long address it showed before
- The emails sent with the older templates (default, alternative, admin, user notification and their colour versions) are written in the Arial font of the template again, instead of the system font of the redesigned email contents
