Maybe i have some ideas your could think about.

Display availabilitiy in a grphical way.

green light for lots of products in stock
yellow not so many
red not available.

Countdown for discount sales

Countdown - Time left
Countdown - products left in stock.


Afiliate system - Coupon System

Maybe it could be possible to hand out some coupons to affiliates and when someone buys simethin with this coupon the affiliate will get an refund.
