I just installed HikaShop and transfered items over from Virtuemart. However, when I try to add a product to my cart " tallyrg.com/store/product/updatecart " it comes up with a 404 Not Found. Not sure what I'm doing wrong and would appreciate some guidance. Thanks!

Hi,

Your store is offline, so it's not possible to check on the problem.
Could you try to turn off the SEF in the joomla configuration ? Does it help ?
Could you give a link to your shop so that we can see the problem ?

I have the same problem on my site at www.minmg.net . Adding to the cart gives me a popup with 404 - Page no found. Despite this, the cart is actually updated and works as expected. I put joomla in debug mode and this is the output in the popup with the error message:

# Function Location
1 JSite->dispatch() JROOT/index.php:42
2 JComponentHelper::renderComponent() JROOT/includes/application.php:198
3 JComponentHelper::executeComponent() JROOT/libraries/joomla/application/component/helper.php:357
4 require_once() JROOT/libraries/joomla/application/component/helper.php:388
5 JError::raiseError() JROOT/components/com_hikashop/hikashop.php:43
6 JError::raise() JROOT/libraries/joomla/error/error.php:251

I turned off the SEF and it did help. Now, the popup confirms item put into the cart, and provides link to checkout and continue shopping. Great advice! Thanks!! However....
I´m still concerned for the SEF being turned off. What are the consequences for the site? It still seems like a bug - will it be fixed in an upcoming release?

We can't fix what we can't reproduce. Add to cart is working fine on our end with SEF turned on.
Having SEF turned off changes the look of the URLs on your website. It's not really a problem if it's turned off.
