My checkout is not working

Hi,

I'm hoping someone here can help.

We want our shop to use paypal for everything. This means we don't want to collect address info etc, we want Paypal to do that. Once our customers have chosen their products, we just want them to press next from our shop and be taken to Paypal. Once they've paid, we post the item out (shipping is included in the price).

The config we are trying is "cart_status_fields,end" but frankly, whether we use payment or shipping or not, it's not working.

The problem is when we push "next" on the checkout screen, it just goes back to the cart page again.

I'm sure my template is set to show messages but I'm not seeing any.

All help would be greatly appreciated. I've run out of ideas. I can provide site access if needed.

Hi,

You should use "no registration" and "login: no" if you really don't want to use "login".
"Status" should not be required if you don't have shipping and only one payment method.
You should add "payment" in your checkout workflow.

Hi Jerome,

Thanks so much for your help. I still have the same problem though.

All settings are as you advise. The checkout workflow is now "cart_fields_payment,end" but the "next" button does not take us to paypal.

I've tried with and without a Shipping method in the back end.

Hi,

No, I've put another shop on temporarily while I try to get yours working. I want to use yours long term. I'll put yours back now. Trouble is live customers are using the site.

Can you please have another look?

Hi,

If you get redirected back to the checkout instead of going to PayPal, it means that the paypal plugin is not configured properly.

Hi,

Thanks for the link to FAQs but I'd already seen it. I've been through the list again, it's still not working.

Can you please have a look? I've provided Xavier with a logon and password to the back end. I can get this to anyone there who needs it.

To be clear, we just want to use HikaShop as a front end to Paypal payment. So I just need a working cart and for it to take the user to paypal from there.

Hi,

I'm not able to access your checkout on your website. When I add a product to the cart it doesn't work.
That means that there is a database issue on your website.
You need to turn on the debug mode of the joomla configuration in order to get the error message at that time.

We cannot do it with the access that you provided.

Hi,

OK, I've done everything I can think of now - including many reinstalls. The cart is working now after the reinstall but I can't get the shop to take me to Paypal for payment. Any ideas / help appreciated. This is getting really urgent now.

I've given Super Admin access to the details sent to Xavier, please let me know what I can do to fix this.

Hi,

The problem is that you had removed the "confirm" step from the checkout workflow. As explained in the documentation relative to the checkout workflow, the checkout cannot finish without it.
I've added it back for you and it's now going to PayPal.
