Hello!!

New user here! I was wondering if there was going to be support added for product groups or bundles? For example:-

Product 1 bundle consists of product 2, product 3, product 4 etc.. at the one price set by product 1.

Or if there was a way to do this without customizing code. We do this now with virtuemart but would like to move away from there.

Hi,

I think that you can :

1. Use the "Option" option of your product page, which will allow you to sell the a second product while selling one product, but the price of the seconde product won't be equals to 0.

2. Create a new product which will be your product 1, product 2, product 3, product 4 etc..

Hope this will help you.

Hello,

Thanks for the quick reply. It seems that the "Options" only setup pulldowns that allow the user to select that product as an option for product 1. With the bundles, it cannot be an option.

Hi,

If you don't need to handle the stock of the products you can simply create one bundle product without any link to the other products and that's it.
If you need that the stock/sales of the products in the bundle update based on the purchases of the bundle product, then it would require a bundle feature built in HikaShop. There is no such feature for now but it's in our todo list for the future.

Hello,

That would work, but the problem with doing that with this particular store is that after checkout, we need to break out the individual products from the bundle that gets sent out as xml to a third party. It's possible to modify the code to check for that particular bundle after checkout and create that xml containing the individual products, but the idea is to avoid 'customizing' the code as much as possible.

Cheers,

Hi Trevor,

How is your XML generated? Anyway I don't think an easy solution exists in your situation.
You'll probably have to code a plugin in order to give more information to your xml generator.
