These are just product listings which are associated to your menu, then when you'll go through your category menu, you'll see the listing of products below you sub-categories listing.

From documentation : You can choose a list of modules to display below the main content. It can be useful to have a module displaying products and synchronized attached to a category type menu so that you can display a listing of the products in the categories below.
