the code for joomla 1.6 > or < is different
and with J3.4 it seems that the MVC has changed

There are Conflicts by using bootstrap 3 and mootools ...

Hi,

There is no conflict between bootstrap 3 and mootools as long as you use the jQuery noconflict mode and use jquery scripts in the proper way (translating jQuery to $ only for some parts of script).

363.3KiB of JavaScript is parsed during initial page load. Defer parsing JavaScript to reduce blocking of page rendering.


mootools = 200 kb

do you need mootools-more.js AND mootools-core.js or is it possible to remove mootools-more.js ?

Hi,

We started working on it and already removed it in some places.

HikaShop doesn't load mootools-more itself. We only load mootools when necessary.
Then, some features of the Joomla library that HikaShop is using might use mootools or mootools-more but that up to the Joomla library.
So if mootools-more is loaded on a page, it's probably that some piece of it requires it.

yes but if we unload mootools totally (that's easy) does hikashop keeps working in frontend ?
I shall find and remove other components using mootools

We updated HikaShop payment plugins to not use anymore Mootools


is it now possible to remove totally mootools in front end , with 2.6.1 version ?

Hi,

@erickb : It's a step in the right direction, along with the Vex popup system that you can use instead of the mootools or bootstrap popup system. Note that you can already have a HikaShop website without mootools loaded as long as you don't use any feature which needs it (no add to cart popup notice, no carousel, the "popup mode" set to "bootstrap", etc).
The next release, HikaShop 3, will have a complete new checkout and add to cart system and that will remove mootools from there so the only place left will be in the carousel system.

@rockettboost : I don't see the point in being so agressive. Maybe we're not working on that as fast as you hoped, and I understand that you might want to use something else, but you can see that we're moving forward on the issue.

My products are set, the system is taking payments, however, when people use my one page check out system, click on FINISH, the next page goes to an error page and says, "500 JHtmlBehavior::mootools not found" - how can I stop this error and simply have a thank you for your order page. I have been through the forums and can't figure out how to make this happen. The error page doesn't even look like the template I have set up (Rocket Themes gantry 5). Please help.
