Error adding menu item

I have a new install on joomla 1.5. It was working fine until just now I went to add a new menu item it is now looking like this:



When you select one of the hikashop options and save it does not give you the hikashop options in the parameters?!

There is indeed a bug here in the latest version of HikaShop. Please download again the package from our website and install it over your current version. That will fix the problem automatically.

I seem to get "Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in \jcweb.org.uk\wwwroot\stannscmstest\libraries\joomla\filesystem\folder.php on line 424" when I try and install the downloaded update?

It just means that the install takes too much time. Just try to install manually via FTP es explained there:
