Search on customs fields was created by janvankuijk
-- HikaShop version -- : 2.3.3
-- Joomla version -- : 3.3.6
-- PHP version -- : 5.3
-- Browser(s) name and version -- : all
-- Error-message(debug-mod must be tuned on) -- : Search on customs fields
I want to search on customs fields. The standard Joomla search searches on everything in the Hikashop except on the custom fields.
Even the Hikashop filters are not working on this.

You have to configure your HikaShop search plugin for products to look in those fields. Go to the plugin manager and look for the "Search - HikaShop Products" plugin. Then change which fields it uses when searching under fields, including your custom fields. See image attached.
Not sure if this will fix your Filters or if you need to do something else there. Depends on how you have them configured, as when you set up a filter you choose which fields it will use for each particular filter, including any custom fields.

I tried it in this way. Have a look:

Everything I try to find is coming back on the frontpage without any results
.
Tyy to find 'BP1646'. It has to come back with this page: bladmuzieksnel.testjouwsite.nl/webshop/p...ar-vol-1-boek-met-cd

Hi,
On that page, you have two search modules:
1. The HikaShop filter module. The fields on which the search will be done depends on how you configure your filter via the menu Display->Filters.
2. The Joomla advanced search module. That module is not compatible with the search plugins of Joomla, including HikaShop's. So it should be the search module of Joomla that you should use instead and then the search results will contain the products based on the configuration of your HikaShop products plugin.

I switched the Joomla search off.
But the problem remains: can't find 'BP1646'.

Hi,
1. For the filter method, you have to check again your filter settings.
2. As Nicolas said, you have to disable the "advanced search module" and use the "search module".

Hi,
I said that you should disable the advanced search module and enable the search module. You didn't say if you enabled it ?
I also said that for the filter module of HikaShop, you need to select the custom field in the options of your filter. You didn't say if you did that ?
If you didn't do either of my recommendations, it's normal that it still isn't working.
