Product variants and the product price main product

When you using product variants and the product variant prices something strange happens if you also use a price for the main product.

In the listing overview this main product price is showing, but in the product details overview only the variants prices are shown.

I think it would be useful if you use the variants the main product price is never shown. For now this is a little bit strange for a new shop owner quit confusing

It's done on purpose like that.
If you want to have the system use the variants prices automatically everywhere, then don't set any price in the main product.
Being able to set a price that will be used on the listing for products with variants is actually a nice feature many merchants use so that they can have exactly the price they want on the listing regardless of the prices of the variants. It gives more control and what to display.
