Import of categories was created by apa2014
Hi ,
I have a quiet a few categories i what to import, as far see there is no place in the back end whare it possible to import categories alone.
I was intent to do via csv in mysql nut i can see there are some field
category_namekey
category_created
category_modified
It seems these fields are genereate by the system is there any particular algoritme behind ?
If this is not the right way to do it, do you have any hints ?

Hi,
You can use the menu Products>Import in order to import categories.
The section "Importing product categories" of the page www.hikashop.com/support/documentation/7...shop-import.html#csv explains what format you need.
Regarding the category_namekey, you can use the format you want. The only requirement is that the namekey of each category must be unique.
And regarding the category_created and category_modified fields, the number in there correspond to the number of seconds since 1970: www.epochconverter.com/

Hi and thanks for your reply.
What i did was following:
went into the import screen under products
Made a CV file with 3 head line
product_name,parent_category,categories
The first lines look like this
,headcat, Subcat1;Subcat2;Subcat3;Subcat4;
product1,Subcat1,subofsubcat1;subofsubcat2;subofsubcat2;
There will come a alert massage, despite that the categories is made.

Hi,
I suppose that you're talking about the notice message which says that the first line doesn't have any product.
That's normal. It's just for your information. You can ignore it since you made it like that on purpose.
