Variant Names/Codes after updating

After the update to joomla 3.9.8 and hikashop 4.1.0 was made. Variant Names/Codes started getting obscured.
For example the items shown in variant-name1.jpg and variant-name2.jpg, some of the variants renamed themselves to a different main product and the word "copy" plus a numeric code. These I believe have all been fixed manually.

But another issue: On Variant-name3.jpg the product name was changed manually on purpose, but only one variant updated its code.

Any thoughts as to why and how to fix so this doesn't happen again?

I don't see how product code could change themselves.
These "_copy" in the product code of the variants indicate that the product was copied with the "copy" button of the products listing.
When a copy of a product is done, its product code and all of its variants product code get a "_copy" along with some numbers added to the codes of the copied products as product codes need to be unique.
I don't see another way to get product codes with that "_copy" added than you clicking on that copy button at some point.
