Hi,

Add the line:
$app = JFactory::getApplication();
after the line:
function updateRates($plugin=null){
in the file plugins/hikashop/rates/rates.php and that should fix the problem.
This error happens because the HikaShop rates update plugin is not configured properly so once you do that change, you'll see an error message explaining you what you need to do.
