Related Module display bug?

hi there
i noticed a problem with content module display.
Don't know if it is misconfiguration or a bug.

I want a related product module under each product.
It work great when configured in <Display-General display option-Module under page> but not when configured in <Display-General display option-Modules main default option-Modules to display under the main area>.

It works only when the module is published on all page or if the module is published on all the parents (witch i don't want).

Anyone experienced that?

It's normal.
The "Modules to display under the main area" option is a default option which is only used to initialize the options of new menus that you would create.

The "Module under the product page" option is the option to use for your related module as explained there:

The related module should be unpublished in joomla and published in that option. That way it will show under the products pages.
