why product description doesn't change w/dif.size?

Hi

I add the "width" as variant to the product,and editted the variant ,that means different width has its own description,code and price. But when I click the drop-down menu choice of "width", the description of the main product doesn't get any change, it still shows the width range only. See attached picture.


Is it possible to get the description change with the width selection?

That should be the case unless you have a JS error on your page. Could you give a link to that page ?

I can see the description changing on that page when changing the selection.

Here is the screen shot when I click to select "21 inch", the product description still shows as:
... 15"-21"w wall mounted vanity,single door, while it is supposed to change as "...21" vanity". It should be defined as a set width instead of a width range.


Please advise the solution to it.

The link you posted earlier does not work anymore.

I could see the description changing on your product page.
So it's just a matter of configuring one description for each variant of the main product via the "manage variants" button of the product edition page.

I did edit the description via "manage variant", but at front end it doesn't change, the only change is the width change at the end of the description when the corresponding width is selected.

But I understood that it's what you want to have no ?
That the description changes when the variant is selected.
And in fact, that works as far as I can see on your page.

You say "at front end it doesn't change", but then that it changes in the description on the front end: "the width change at the end of the description".
I'm completely confused. What is not working for you ?
Please do some screenshots and circle/add comments to explain what is the problem so that we can understand what you're talking about.

Re-attach the screen shot, hope it's clear this time.

That is not the description but the product name.
The description is at the bottom:

dimension: xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

That's why I was confused...

MSH.WA.FV15FHD is actually the variant code.
If you don't want the variant code to be displayed, turn off the "show product code" option of the Display tab of the configuration.

"mEco walnut bamboo 15"-21"w single door wall-mounted vanity" is the main product name. If it doesn't change it probably means that you didn't enter anything in the name field of each one of your variants.
please check on that.

Then, make sure that the "append characteristics values to product name" option is turned off in the Display tab of the configuration.
