New Products Are Out of Order

Hiya,

I need some advice please. It's a product ordering issue. We're trying to get the products to be listed in decending numeric order, but all of our clients product codes and product IDs are alphanumeric. We are presently ordering by product ID, but as you can see in the link below, we run into a problem.

An example is where product ID# DRP4-7 is grouped with product ID# DRP4-70.

Is there something we can do (maybe to the database field) to solve this problem or will the client have rename all the product ID or product codes?

Hi,

Why not use the ordering column which is made especially for that ? You can configure an ordering number for each product of a category on the products listing of the backend and have your listings use that value for the ordering.
