Multiple Products on a Product Page - Possible?

Hello, wondering if you can tell me if this is possible. This is what we are after:

A Product page that can show multiple products on the one page. Not a product listing though as it limits the "file upload" custom field and the "Option selection" dropdown.

Is this possible?

We also tried creating a joomla article and inserting "Product" but it only shows as a "product listing" view again rather that a "Product Page" view. Any advise you can give us on this?

I think that the best way will be to create a product listing and do some code customization through some files of your "product" view via "Hikashop->Display->Views".
But some development skills will be required .

Could you point us in the right direction of how much coding is going to be required and of which files?

Could this work using a module "place anywhere" third party joomla extension? <--- that was a long shot!

Could this be something you are looking at implementing on a future release?

If I understand well, your "file upload" is a csutom field? So you can already display it by enabling the "Display custom item fields" option of your module/menu. If the "option selection" you are talking about is also a custom field it will solve your problem!
But if you are really talking about product options ( www.hikashop.com/support/2013-08-08-00-1...ct-form.html#options ) then editing the view is almost impossible.
Considering the way the options are coded it would require a lot of modification to display it on a product listing.

Since we don't have that much demand for this and added to the fact it may crash some of our customers website (if they have thousand option for each product for example), it's not something we are going to do soon. I hope you'll find a solution to handle it with custom fields or variants.

ok, you say we could use custom fields and variants to do what we need, however the "product listing" view doesn't show these items, it shows a "choose options" button, are you saying we can get it to show custom fields or variants in the "product listing" view? (not to be confused with the "product page" view, which we now know can't display more than one product at a time on the one article). If so, how can we do this?

I just want to make sure we are talking about the same thing
We are effectively trying to make it less clicks for the customer by removing the need to go into the "product page" view to choose their options.

It's not possible to display characteristics on listings. But if you only have custom fields (and you can create custom dropdown fields for selection among a defined set of values), you can indeed have the fields and the add to cart buttons directly on the listing instead of the "choose options" button. To do that, you simply need to turn on the option "display custom item fields" option of your products listing menu/module via the menu Display>Content menus/modules.

Thanks, this might be a suitable workaround for us. We just tried it and it seems to work to a point. Can we also include the Quantity field? can't find the option for that at the moment, if we need to add code, please let us know where and what to add

Indeed it's possible
Just go in the main configuration (System>Configuration>Main) and change the option "Display the quantity field on the product page" to "Global on listing". It should do the job!

Sorted, thanks. We have a few products that will require calculations of 2 custom fields that we need to try and sort out if thats possible now. Will try and look around to see if anyone has attempted that first though

Yes, thanks, I just checked with the other person working on our site and that link you mention takes you to the code he said he had to add. Solved
