Free characteristics get removed during checkout
I've added (currently) 2 product options with a few characteristics each as follows
<option 1>
--<none>
--<char1 (insert price)>
--<char2 (insert price)>
<option 2>
--<none>
--<char 1 (insert price)>
--<char 2 (insert price)>
--<char 3 (insert price)>
--<char 4>
the characteristics "none" are free, the others have a price set except for char 4. All products associated with the characteristics have an unlimited supply like all other products. The "none" characteristics get succesfully placed into the cart and price set as "free" which is logical. Now here's the problem. When clicking on "proceed to checkout" those "free" items get removed from the cart and the checkout page displays a warning that the product <productname><characteristic none> is no longer available.
The cart is also not behaving like the demo page
The characteristics get placed in the cart as seperate products and not as 1 products with the specified characteristics and updated price.
What am i doing wrong?
What i have also noticed is after i delete the product with options from the cart, it defaults to a "Home" page where it lists all the products, including the ones that are not supposed to be visible

Would it be possible to have more details about your characteristics/variants configuration ? (And also having your HikaShop version number, please).
HikaShop have some restriction features like an option to forbidden to buy free products.
I don't (and can't) know if it is this option or another but there is something which does not allow the product when checking the cart content. Do you have special plugins ?

special plugins no, restrictions, not that i know if. I'll pm u the superuser details
i followed the instructions, no more no less. Create hidden category, add product, assign characteristics, add said new product to the product as an option.

As expected, the option "Display 'add to cart' button for free products" was set to no.HikaShop have some restriction features like an option to forbidden to buy free products.
So you can't add free products in the cart.
Before the options are not added directly, you can see them added but they are removed during the next check.
Otherwise, you can use the setting "Group options with product" to group the options to the main product. It should avoid the price check.
So you had some restrictions.

*edit* looks that group options does make the cart behave like the demo page. Perfect, but again the documentation doesnt reflect that. Without that group option, the documentation also doesn't state that the cart button for free products needs to be active in that case, Perhaps an update to the documentation is in order
I did experiment and group the options then disabled the "cart button for free products" and they got removed again. So it looks like it does NOT ignore the price check.
oh and how did the dual language thing work. since i can't test out that functionality myself. Were you presented with an english site on your (i assume) french browser client?

We will update the documentation for that.
I guess that the option name is too strict on the "add to cart" but the real feature is to authorize or no free products in the cart.
About the dual language, the link you gave me was for "nl", and if I ask a url without the language parameter, I am still in nl until I click on the "en" flag.

thx for letting me know. I would have imagined fr users would be directed to en content. Guess i'll have to do some more research on that then.
Edit: think i found the problem. Language filter plugin was set to use website standard and not browser preferences and so were "Nicolas" superuser settings. Sorry for going off-topic but i have no one else to test the functionality with.
I changed site language preferences to english for Nicolas user. If i can ask one last favor on this. If your browser client is native french (i think it is), could you revisit the front-end and simply check if it loads the /en content by default? Then i'll know it all works

When I open the website, I am directly redirected to the "/en/" and then the page ask to login.

guess all that remains is to perhaps make the the cart ignore the pricecheck on future versions. Till then this is solved
