Why you still use Mootools lib. in your shop component .

Because Joomla is still using it too.
But don't worry, we will use it lesser and lesser ; there are already other interesting thread talking about this specific and precise subject.

Jerome , can i disable (full) mootols and work with hika ?
i see error if i disable like :

Hi,

Less than 2.3.3 but yes, there is still some mootools.
I rewrote the javascript "vote" library so now, votes are "stand alone" and mootools free.

Hi,

It depends on which functionalities you are using.
Some will only require the core, but others like carousels will need the more too.

The best way to know that for your precise case is to test ;)

Hi,

We reduced the number of inclusion of mootools, the list I gave in my previous message details the different inclusions.
The carousel refactoring is in our TODO list ; the idea is to have several implementation of carousels.
We are trying to list the most used feature in website with HikaShop. The current carousel implementation have a lot of options but several are not used.

It would be unprofessional to break HikaShop just for that, or remove features because they re completely coded for mootools.
Doing it properly requires a lot of work.
And removing it or not doesn't change much for your website.
Our plans are to remove the calls to mootools during this year, little by little.
