Try to click on the "check database" button of the HikaShop configuration and the "rebuild" button of the categories listing. That might help.

Did something wrong when making a new category (named 'lichaamsverzorging'): root is now under the new category - seems not to be normal (see attachement)? This category 'lichaamsverzorging' has to be on the same level as the category 'geneesmiddel' and 'hygiene'.
Cannot remove this category 'lichaamsverzorging'
Tried already to rebuild the category listing, without succes.

I've never seen that.
You'll have to edit the hikashop_category table directly via your phpmyadmin and delete that category.
Then, go in the categories listing and click on the "rebuild" button.
You can also click on the "check database" button of the hikaShop configuration.
That should hopefully be enough.
Then, just create your category again in the category where you want it.

Removed from the database, check database performed in hikashop --> no errors (everything OK)
Rebuild in categories: ERROR 1064: You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MariaDB server version for the right syntax to use near 'LIMIT 1' at line 1 SQL=UPDATE persyn_hikashop_category SET category_left=1, category_right=2, category_depth=0 WHERE category_id = LIMIT 1

Hi,

Edit the hikashop_category table and check the root category. It should be the first entry. It should have a category_parent_id set to 0. If that's not the case, such issue could happen.

Great, it works! The difference between a 0 and a 1 is ∞.
