Hi,
i have to add some product specifications fields. The fields are text field type.
Usually some of them have the same value for a lot of products.
So i thought to set the default value; but it does not work. I mean, from backend, on the preview of the custom field i see the default value (screenshot1).
But when i go on the backend of the product, on the Custom fields tab, i see the field empty (screenshot2). So, also on the frontend of the product the custom field is empty.
What can i do to fix that?
Thanks a lot
Best regards

Hello,
I understand the issue, let's explain some details, when you create a default value for your custom field, this will be add "by default" on each NEW product, you will create from now.
Because for older product the custom field is unable to add it in your data base.
But as you can see the input is display in your product backend, ready to be fill, and so you can add this same default value.
If you have a lots of old products, I think you can use Massaction to "update" these products with this default value.
Hope this solve your issue.

Hi,
thanks for your help.
Indeed, i've just tryed to create a new product and the field show the default value.
To avoid to do a mess could you tell me how can i set the mass action?
For example to fill the field on my screenshot
Also is there a way to exclude some products?
Thanks

Hi,
You have to set it like that: take.ms/n3swA
Here is the mass actions documentation: www.hikashop.com/support/documentation/167-massaction-form.html
