Language file not saving

I update the language file and it won't save. Any change I make just changes back to the original text.

Hi,

It's possible that the server your website is on has protections in place preventing the saving from working.
If you want to create translation overrides, you can do them as well in Joomla:
docs.joomla.org/J3.x:Language_Overrides_in_Joomla
And if you want to translate translations, you can do it directly via FTP in the languages/en-GB folder.
