Widget Reporting Engine issues [v1.5.9]

Hi there team,

So I love the greater flexibility of the new Widget Reporting Engine but it has some issues...

a. it does NOT show the correct/updated information for a widget at the Dashboard level.
IF however you click on a widget it does show the updated information but NOT for all Widgets...

We have 1 widget defined as follows which works great if you click on the widget itself [the dashboard view of the widget is wrong]:
see picture: Widget1 at Dashboard.jpg where you will notice supposedly 6 different Journey2 products... yet if you look at picture:
Widget1 inside Widget Details.jpg you will notice that there are actually only 3 products that abide by the rules that I selected...

I'm glad you like the Reports tool, let's try to fix this problem .
Could you give a screenshot of your widget configuration? So I'll be able to check everything and I could try to reproduce the bug.
Could you also confirm that what you want to display is the number of orders for the three products Journey2 - Satin Nickel 1, Journey2 - Sunset Platinum 9 and Journey2 - Smoky Mirror 10?
And what do you mean by accurate date? If you think the line is too thine, try to reduce the period that you are examinating (for example the last month instead of the last year) or try to group your items per month.

I added 2 screenshots.. it has the same data that I typed btw...

The 1st image is for Retail sales and the 2nd image is for Non-Retail [Wholesale] sales.

In answer to your question:

humm no actually I don't want to display the number of orders - I want to display the QUANTITY sold in the orders...

so if:

order 1 = 6 Satin Nickel pipes and
order 2 = 5 Satin Nickels and 1 Sunset Platinum and
order 3 = 10 Sunset Platinum and 6 Smoky Mirror and
order 4 = 4 of each finish [Satin Nickel/Sunset Platinum/Smoky Mirror] then I want the graph to reflect:

15 Satin Nickel pipes
15 Sunset Platinum pipes and
10 Smoky Mirror

[which currently doesn't work]

ALSO I should add that we have had a lot more orders in the system since this last post and yet the data in the widgets have not updated

As for the question of accurate date, i didn't say accurate date but accurate DATA - meaning that the information in the graphical widgets is NOT even close to the actual data
of the orders if you add it up manually...

I can also give you SuperAdmin access if we connect via Skype [for security reasons].

Hi,

Indeed, it seems your widget doesn't work that well.
However, I first have to tell you that what you want isn't currently possible. The order option allow to visualize the number of orders containing the given product but does give the number of sold product. This is something we may work on since the number of product sold can already been visualized through the listing and table reports.

About your problem, you should first try to create a new widget with the same parameters, if this on is old, it may be the source of the problem since we fixed few things.
If it doesn't work, I will need an access to your backend in order to debug the report tool since it's working on our test websites .

That's very disappointing to hear because when I talked to Jérome and Nicolas months ago about when the new/updated reporting engine would come out that it would specifically be able to do this... the listing and table reports are great in theory but give NO easy access to the number of units sold of a particular product... and for inventory and other purposes that is vital... Sales projections aren't done in dollars for more companies but in # of units as well...

I'm sure we can't be the only one needing this feature disparately...

Looking forward to having this major issue fixed ASAP...

Indeed it was something we missed and which is not really coherent. I just fixed it so it can display the number of product sold.
Please find attached the widget.php file than you can put in the folder administrator\components\com_hikashop\classes. It should fix the bug
Do not hesitate to report if you have any problem with it.

It looked promising this fixed version but it still has a lot of bugs...

I went in and manually opened each order and counted the quantities of each of the 3 products and came up with:
Satin Nickel: 20, Sunset Platinum: 37, Smoky Mirror: 1 and the widget said: Satin Nickel: 18, Sunset Platinum: 24, Smoky Mirror: 1

So, hummm... additionally the small view at the dashboard level still includes 4 extra products which have nothing to do with the report?!


I think this would be the time to move to you checking out on our server and seeing what we are seeing... your thoughts?

The more orders we have the more this is becoming critical for us.

That's a wise idea.
You should contact eliot via PM and give him an access to the back end (and possibly to the FTP) so that he can check your reports.
He actually won't be available tomorrow but he will be here on wednesday.

Before I take a look, we fixed some issues on the report tool so could you please upload this new widget.php file on your server and see if it solve the problem?
You have to put in in administrator\components\com_hikashop\classes
I'm not sure it's related to your problem but it may fix some bugs. I'll take a look after you updated

I just solved the problem, it was a nice bug!
For those who are experiencing the same problem, here is the new widget.php file to put in administrator\components\com_hikashop\classes and view.html.php to put in administrator\components\com_hikashop\views\report

Hi Eliot, I took everyone of our orders and wrote down on paper each and every quantity and date and then cross-referenced it against the data from the system and it is indeed working 100%

So we wanted to thank you for finding this meany bug and getting us up and running!
