joomla 1.7 characteristics prices

I have made an update to joomla 1.7 and everything is working fine except products with characteristics.
The characteristics are still shown at the product page (backend with all informations and prices, frontend only as list table etc.).
So far ok - but - there is no more change in prices or description if someone changes in the frontend his choice (Characteristic A to . This had functioned in 1.6 quite good.
Products with options are working fine.
I am using HIKA Business 1.53
What is my fault?

For some reason, the javascript of the characteristics system is added twice to the page with different values which is causing the system to not work properly.
Did you modify the files of the product view in any way ?

yes I have modified the product view. Is that a problem .... I am still working on that shop

You should try to delete the modifications you made and see if it works again (there is a delete icon on the listing of views for the views you modified).

just to for clarification: I did not change any of your files in the product view (coding, css) right now ...only "type of layout" from "div" to "table" or "number of columns" from 2 to 1. I did not change it after the update from 1.6.6 to 1.70

So I am still wondering what to modify or delete.

For Info: The problem is still the same, if I make a new product with characteristics in a category, which did not have this type of product /Characteristics structure before.
Between 1.6.6 and 1.7 there was no added CSS or other code and no additional addons.

Could you give an FTP access to your website so that we can check on the problem ?
If you didn't edited the files, there must be something wrong somewhere but it's impossible to say without debugging the code directly on your website as we don't have the problem here.
