Can custom product fields be searched on?

In the Business version I can add custom product fields.

For example, I want to add a field that the product is either 'New' or 'Used'.

Would customers be able to search on this field for all 'Used' products?

You can add custom fields in the options of the product search plugin. However, that means that the text searched by the user in the joomla search module will be search in those fields, and not that an additional checkbox will be added on the search screen, which is not possible.

In next version of HikaShop, we will propose a new filters feature which will enable you to add filters on products listings so that your users can search will multiple criteria.
