Show only selected postage costs??

I have a shop selling cd's and downloads of albums.

I have set the shop up with four delivery methods:
Denmark
Inside the EU
Outside the EU
Download

Currently all four methods are displayed when buying an album. This makes it possible for customers to buy a physical cd and then choose Download for delivery meaning that they then only pay for the cd and not for the postage.

I am sure there must be a way to show only the relevant postage options for an order, so that the Download option will only be visible when the purchased item is in fact downloadable.

But how?

You should turn off the option "Force shipping regardless of weight" of the Checkout tab of the configuration.
Then, in your shippable goods, set a weight.
For your downloadable goods, do not set a weight.

Then the shipping methods will be displayed on not based on the weight of the products.

You can in fact remove the "download" shipping method.

You can also restrict your other shipping methods to zones so that only the relevant shipping method display based on the address of the user.

You are right, except that I not only CAN, but actually HAVE TO remove the shipping method Download. Otherwisw it will still be an option for itmes with a weight.
