Social Plugin problem with Twitter part...?

All of a sudden yesterday, my individual product pages started taking upwards of 30-60 seconds to load. You could see the social networking icons a bit, but it took quite a bit for the rest of the page to load. Once it did, you could see the word "Tweet" but no icon.

I experimented, and found if I disabled the Twitter part, the page would load in normal time, but the Google+ and FaceBook icons all mashed together against the left side. So at this point I have disabled the plugin and page load times are normal.

I know you call some external code from each social network, is there something happening with twitter? I can re-enable this temporarily if you need to see it to diagnose?

Maybe a twitter server was down ?

It must indeed come from twitter.
