Fatal Error : show.php line 179

Hello, Bonjour,

I get a Fatal Error when I swap back from spanish or engllish to frensh(jommfish component) using hikashop.


The message is the following message :

Fatal error: Call to a member function get() on a non-object in C:\xampp\htdocs\sitedevjoomla\components\com_hikashop\views\product\tmpl\show.php on line 179

Is it a bug or a customisation problem ?

Hi,

There is no call to this function on this line in this file in the official version so I can't answer you. If you post the version of your file here (zip it first), I might be able to help you.

Also note that you should not directly edit the view files as you will loose all your modifications when you update. You should use the Display->views menu to edit them which will create a copy of the copy in your template where the modifications will be applied.

OK, I use Nodepad++ to check the things.

I include herewith my file.

The file is good, so it means that you changed the view.html.php of the product view and removed the assignation of the config var.
This part is just to handle external comments. You can remove the whole block of code from line 179 to line 191 included and it will work

I tried It, if I do that, when I go down to the hikashop product level, all the information in my Right and Left module desapears !
Ba the way, I use Afterburner as template.
So I can't do that.
Do you have an other idea ?

This issue and the fact that the right and left module disappear are probably two different problems. You should either fix the changes you made in HikaShop or revert back to the standard release by installing again HikaShop over the one you have. If you changed some code in Hikashop files, the modifications will be removed but all your options and product infos etc will still be there.

The only things I modified regarding the plugin are :
I My base language for administration is FR and ES for the forum.

"Installé, mis monnaie principale CLP, enlevé les 2 décimales par défaut, enlevé l'adresse du magasin, si rabais ce sera avant taxe, style particulier, et en principe pas de taxe.
Changement de couleur dans le CSS ffbb00.
Mis fr en langage par défaut et modifié le falleback en-GB pour l'espagnol.
Modifié la position des drapeaux de langues de Users-4 à Right."

The website is not yet in production, I am just in the "dev" part.
What could I send you else ?

I already told you how to fix the fatal error. For the template issue, it's not something I can help you with without seeing with my browser the problem on your website.

But considering I am creating my website, testing Joomla, Hikashop and Joomfish together.
Considering the only place I have informations is on my Notebook.
How could we do ?
My personal feeling, but it's just feeling is that something is not correct with the translation from Joomfish plugin ? Because it happends, when I pres the language buttom.
But I don't have enougt experience for that.
So could it be that having a basic version Hikashop and triing still to create something in English French and Spanish could afect ?

The Hikashop looks great, but I will not begin to make translation and configuration if I can't use it later in 3 languages.

There is no reason HikaShop would not work in several languages with Joomfish. We use it on our own website without any issues.

I don't think that this problem is related to joomfish but maybe an incompatibility between hikashop and your template. We can't reproduce the problem here so I can't tell you what to do.

In the case I decide to reinstall Hikashop should I desinstall and reinstall hikashop from Joomla Admin or is it a specifical file I should keep safe ?

You don't need to uninstall HikaShop. Just download HikaShop and install it via joomla installer. Tthat's all.

I reinstalled Hikashop, without any modification.
Get into my website, made alternate click on the language flags, alterning between Fr, En and Es, all seemed to be OK, and suddenly, after 5 or 6 go and back :

It's not very commun to do that test, because a normal user choose a language, but it should work normally !
Any more idea ?

If you replace the show.php file by the own in this package, you should not get that error:
