Hoping for some advice from those with more experience than I (so just about anyone!)
I would like to set up a way to book people onto a course. The course can be Saturday, Sunday or Both. People can be 'general public' or 'member'.
Booking both days gets a discounted price on the two single days.
Being a member gets a discount on all prices.
I've been looking at characteristics and access permission prices in the business edition. Does anyone have a workflow that would fit my requirements please?
In the prices of your product/variants, you can set an access level.
That way, instead of having one price per variant/product, you could have two different prices, one for the members group and one for the others.

Thanks, that's pretty much what I came up with, just wondered if there was another way of doing it. I need to hand the workflow off to a friend who is not as IT literate so just wanted to make sure there wasn't something else that was more obvious.
If it's the same discount for all the prices, you can create a discount and limit it to the members group and the discount will apply to all the prices automatically.
You can potentially configure different discounts for different product categories.
