Starter Intallation Error on Joomla 2.5.4

Hi, I got several errors when installing. I am running Windows XP, Joomla 2.5.4 on

XAMPP 1.7.7 / PHP: 5.3.8

The errors were along the lines of:

Strict standards: Only variables should be assigned by reference in C:\xampp\htdocs\jrdev\administrator\components\com_hikashop\views\menu\view.html.php on line 15
Strict standards: Creating default object from empty value in C:\xampp\htdocs\jrdev\administrator\components\com_hikashop\views\menu\view.html.php on line 25

I repeated the error twice on a clean site with no sample data installed.

Yes the solution is to change the "error reporting" value in Joomla.
In global configuration > Server, just change this value to "simple" or "none".
