Adding characteristics

Fiddling around with characteristics and found what I think is a drawback for the administration of products and prices and the use of characteristics. When adding a product to another product through characteristics a completely new product is created instead of just adding an existing one that's already in the product tree. When the price changes on the ordinary one it doesn't on the one in the characteristics which easily is forgotten.

Would it be possible to have a button to just import an existing product with price and all into the variants part of a product?

So if I correctly understood, you want a button which will allow you to chose a product and to add its specification into a product's variant?

If you want to "quickly" edit your product's variant you can export your product through a CSV file, edit this file and import it back with your modifications.
