coupon/discount? not working

ok next small bug ? I have found in regards to coupons

I notice that their is a coupon section on the process page so immediately i go to the back end and there's no sign of the coupon section?.. however I found the discount section and filled in the relevant info their.

however when I check-out and use the code I entered , and click add , the page refresh's but the coupon/discount is not applied.

When you create a discount you can select its type : coupon or discount.
If you choose discount, the code of the discount won't be usable on the coupon field of the checkout.
You need to select coupon if you want to use your discount as a coupon.

Also, you should get an error message if the coupon is not applied. If you don't get an error message, look at that: www.hikashop.com/en/support/documentation/61.html

aha I totally did not see the option the first 2 times.

absolutely there is a drop down for the selection of either discount/coupon and it now works .

I shall book an appointment with the eye specialist later on this week

Actually I have a problem on coupons and discounts. The discount did show when I did it at the first time. After I remove it form the admin menu and added new discount and coupon, none of them work. The coupon newer worked. I did follow your other link, which showed that my template should have (I don't remember it anymore) that in the index.php template, and it does. But I don't see any error messages or any discount applied.

Could you make a screenshot of your discounts listing on the backend ?
Did you apply any restrictions on your discounts/coupons ?

I just place start date and end date for 5% discount. The site is not finished completely, so you could go and test it:

You should get an error message if the coupon is not applied. As you don't get an error message, look at that and see if you're not missing the message system tag in your template: www.hikashop.com/en/support/documentation/61.html

I do have that <jdoc:include type="message" /> in the template I'm using. I mention it before I just did not remember that file name. I thought that after I install alfapoints adon it stopped working, so I did uninstall it but I still have the same problem. It used to work for little bit, because I did see the discount the first, then I deleted it and after tat it does not work anymore. I don't know what happened.

I must say I'm out of ideas. Could you give us access to your back end and FTP so that we can put traces and try to debug the problem ? If so, you can send the information to nicolas@hikashop.com
