Displaying Product Characteristics on front end was created by wonderwilson
Hi Nicolas,

My client has asked if it is possible to include the characteristics on the front end module view?

See attached - it would need to appear under the price.

Thanks Nicolas,

Would it be possible to add a html link, that only appears when there are variations, that goes to the product page? The client want to have an option to add to cart as well as having the option to view other weights. They're very demanding!

That's how it is by default when you display the add to cart buttons. When the product has characteristics, the button "add to cart" is replaced by the button "choose options" which goes to the product page when the user clicks on it.

Is it possible to have both - say the Add to Cart button and a html link that goes to the product page (the same as the product title, but with a different name - if that makes any sense)?

So, if I understand correctly, you would like to have the default variant for the add to cart button and then a link to the product page if the user wants to select another variant.

That's not possible either. The problem is that the variant/characteristic data is not loaded on the products listings in order to not have too much resources eaten up by the processing of the page.

Is it possible to remove More Options and replace with the Add to Cart regardless of how many variant you have?

If you're talking about the text, yes that's not a problem. You can change any text in HikaShop by overriding its translation as explained there:

Hi Nicolas,

Thanks for your help with this! I've come up with a workaround which does the same thing. My final question is - I would like to edit the product page (the one containing description, image, variations, custom fields etc) adding some more text etc - which view file do I need to edit?

It's the file 'show' of the view 'product' that you can edit via the menu Display->Views.
