Part time access levels?

Hi,

We have disabled user registration in Hikashop as that is what the customer wants i.e. people can buy with no account setup. Now they want to also have trade only access. I am thinking along the lines of the normal login module and upgrading to Hikashop Business edition to control access to the trade products and offers.

So normal user comes to the shop browses and buys an item with no logins or registration.
Next a trade customer logs into the site with preissued username and password and can browse and buy from the trade only section.

Is this doable i.e. still no overall registration in Hikashop but it still picks up the Joomla trade account?

Yes, it's doable.
You can set access levels for your products so that they are only displayed for registered users.
Then on the checkout, if the user is already logged in, he won't be asked to register and will be able to proceed to his order while other customers without an account will be able to fill the address/email form on their checkout.
