If you want just to change the text/remove it, you can override the translation as explained there:

Otherwise, that can be changed in the file login of the view checkout and the file registration of the view user that you can edit via the menu Display->Views.

couple of additional questions, please....

on the login form of the cart page, i would like to move the statement "Fields marked with an asterisk (*) are required. " to the top, but I can't find where to change this.

also, when doing a search for say "Hansgrohe" on the front-end, one of the results is for the manufacturer Hansgrohe which is correct, however when you click that result, the page is blank. On uploading our products we did assign them to the manufacturer id # (14). Should the products appear?

You can change that in the file registration of the view user that you can edit via the menu Display->Views. It's the code:

If the page is blank, it's because of the itemid field of the hikashop category search plugin. You need to set in that option the id of a hikashop category listing menu.
