Confirmation Mail Delay

1.-When someone buys at my store, the confirmation message to my mail account takes 2 hours to arrive. is it normal? is hikashop problem or server problem?, i tried the server to send other things via mails and it instantaneius.
2.-Is there any whats new in the recent version of hikashop to see if its worth to actualizate?, in case i do the actualization and having edited the product and categories via the manager in hikashop it will delete the changes or not?.

1. The confirmation email is only sent once the payment notification is received. It's probably your payment platform which sends the notifications 2hours later.

If you did your modifications via the interface, you won't loose your changes.
