product description not showing on listing

Hi all,

Is there a way to list products AND show the product description?

When setting up a product listing, despite choosing the "show description" option - the description doesn't show.

It shows the image thumbnail, title, price and "add to cart" button

The HikaShop demo page doesn't show a listing with description as an option either, so I'm confused about the urpose of the "show description" option.

Is it possible?

Hi,

The "show description" option allows you to display the description of the current category at the top of the listing.
For the products description, you should change the "item box layout" option from "image and title" to "image and description" on the same screen and that will do what you want.

Hi,

This is the default setting.
Each menu item has its own type of item layout when you edit it via the Joomla menu manager.
So you should check that setting there.

Also, it looks like your products listing is heavily customized by your template.
So that might be a limitation of your template view overrides of HikaShop views.
Try switching to the default template of Joomla and see if you have the same issue. If you don't, then it will mean that the issue comes from your template view overrides in the folder templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/html/com_hikashop/product/
