You can try to add a css rule like this:

Try to see which one is the best. It should be better. However, depending of the user language, you may a big space (for example, French users will a space between g+ and facebook)

Hello Eliot,
Unfortunatly your suggestion didnt do the trick, but it got me on the right track.... so, thanks
I solved it by changing 90 to 110 in this code .....
Now the social plugin shows right for the dutch language and that is what our site is aimed at for the main part.
