Hi,

If you use the default "address_vat" custom field for that, you can just set the "VAT number check" option of the configuration to "Format check".

Thanks Nicolas, but my problem is that I also sell to private users without VAT and I need their tax code to make the invoice.
in Italy the tax code is such as RSS BBR F839 69 C 48 A, how can I check the formal inclusion of this area? there is to change some files?

In that case, you would have to modify the file administrator/components/com_hikashop/helpers/vat.php in order to have also a regex for that type of tax code.

That should block the registration if the format is not valid.

Hi,

I see that you removed the "country" field from your address form. However, the system bases itself on the country of the user in order to know if the user VAT number should be checked or not (Only customers with their address in the European Union will have their VAT numbers checked).
So that's probably why it doesn't perform any check as the system believes that it is not needed.

Hello, I wanted to know if it was solved the problem of controlling even the tax code, I needed the user iseriva or a valid VAT number exists, or if one is not in possession could enter the tax code.

Hi,

The VAT number control system works fine. We even use it on our website.
Regarding the notice message, it's not important. You can just turn off the "error reporting" setting of the Joomla configuration (it should be turned off anyway).

Hi,

Are you sure that the VAT number is valid ?
Please check it there:
ec.europa.eu/taxation_customs/vies/
That's the official registry for VAT numbers in Europe and HikaShop uses that database.

Hi,

This error means that com_users has been removed on your website. Is that the case ? com_users is an important part of Joomla and is necessary so that HikaShop works properly.

So it seems to be working as far as I can see.
What error message did you have ?
Did you check that the VAT number you're trying to use is valid?
